Our Wedding, Home SWEET home

Looking at you for those very first few moments of your sweet life are moments that are irreplaceable.

I had imagined who you were, what you looked like or what little personality you had for months! Then in a matter of seconds, I had you in my arms...staring into those deep blue little eyes.
You were like a dream to Mommy! You were and are perfect!

Yesterday, you turned three weeks old and its kinda bitter sweet! Although I am super excited to watch you grow and unfold into this tiny perfect little girl, I am sad to see how fast it is all happening!!

Reeselyn, you are your own already!

You smile all the time. Mostly when your sleeping, but nevertheless, you do!!
Your binkie is your best friend and you go NOWHERE without it :)

Bath time is your favorite, but the way you look all snuggled in your towel is mommy's favorite!!

You absolutely HATE being naked and cold....Daddy LOVES this fact and hopes you always do ;)...But for now it sure makes changing your diaper or dressing you up very hard for mommy!!!

You aren't quite sure about tummy time and almost always get mad at Mommy for making you do it :)

You have gone on your first walk with Mommy and Daddy and you loved it! You didn't miss a thing! You had to see everything!
And you love car rides so much that Mommy sometimes stops to check on you because you are so quiet.

Reeselyn, these past three weeks have been the best weeks of your Mommy and Daddy's lives! Your such a good baby and you warm our hearts each and every day. I cannot imagine life without you!
We love you so so VERY much!!!

Hello World!!!

May 1, 2012

9 months of anticipation had come to an end.
The time had FINALLY come!! We had finally reached the finish line!
Excitement of meeting our baby girl was overwhelming and pure fear of the unknown had begun to set in.

 Induction was set for 9:00pm.
And the day drug on for what seemed like forever!
But once G got home from work and I managed to make myself presentable, time seemed to speed up!

I wanted it to slow down :)

(39 weeks)
Greg loaded the car, I said my goodbyes to mom and off we went!!

After checking into the hospital and getting settled into the room my anxiety of all the needles, of the epidural and the overall unknown experience of delivery had over come my entire being!!

Luckily, the nurse was quick and came in to get the party started!

Fear #1 - IV...Check...piece of cake.
Maybe because G had calmed me down or maybe because my nurse was just that good. Either way, it was over and wasn't near as bad as what I was thinking it would be.

A quick bathroom break and at 10:00pm the induction began. And I was bound to the bed till the wee hours of the morning.

So G and I got comfy.... Solitaire for me...Internet surfing for him!
I was also sent to the hospital with a gift from one of my very bests that I had been dying to open for weeks!! (I had VERY strict instructions to not open it until due day!!)

The sweetest charm bracelet made my night!!! And gave my drab wardrobe a little life :)

2:00a.m rolled around, I made my last bathroom break and the ever anticipated sleeping pill was taken!! This girl was in heaven and it was lights out!

The next day -May 2, 2012- started early!

6:00am -Medication from the night before was removed
7:00am - Pitocin began
Contractions were very mild which made for easy visiting time with mom and G

8:30am- Doc came in, broke my water and told me to wait out an hour before getting the epidural.
Contractions got SUPER intense!!! Most painful thing I've ever experienced and all in my bladder. No one could talk or touch me, but the breathing techniques I learned certainly helped them pass a little easier.

9:30am - Nurse came in, checked me, told me I was 3cm and called for the anesthesiologist.

Fear #2 - EPIDURAL!!!
just like everyone had told me prior, I was truly in so much pain that I wasn't near as terrified as I once was!

This girl was a happy one and visiting resumed as usual :)

2:00pm - Nurse came in to check me again. Said i was still 3cm perhaps 4cm, but it was still going to be a while before pushing.
But before I knew it my doctor was in the room checking me and telling me push time was a mere 30 mins away!!!!
I was confused!!! Still am. But I didn't complain. This meant we were closer to meeting our little angel baby.

2:20pm - Nurse was in the room coaching me as I began to push!
This seemed to last forever!!! I didn't feel like I was doing anything or doing it right but progress was surely being made.
Greg teases me now at how I made small talk with the nurse while she stood between my legs coaching me!! But hey, for me, it made the most awkward part of delivery a little less awkward.

Then.....before we knew it. Doc was taking over and at....
3:20pm - Our precious little lamb was born!!!
This moment was very surreal.
Watching her sweet little body being set on my chest...she was beautiful!!!

After Daddy cut her umbilical cord the nurses whisked her away, leaving Daddy in awh and Mommy overwhelmed with emotion!!

Greg was one proud Daddy!

Reeselyn Lynnette Marsh came into this world on May 2, 2012
weighing a whopping 7lbs 2ozs
and 18.5 inches long!!!

To hold your baby for the very first time is out of this world! Everything around you stops.
You get lost in the eyes of perfection!!
You realize that everything you thought you had accomplished doesn't come close to comparing to the bundle of joy that lay in your arms!!!

Our first family photo...a family of three :))

Reeselyn's NURSERY reveal!!

Reeselyn's room has been a work in progress, one that I was proud and excited to take on!
I hope one day she loves all the hard work and personal touches that went into her room just as much as I do now :))

Greg and I decided on a very light and subtle color for her walls, then wanted to add accents and pops of color throughout.

When it came to Reeselyn's bedding I came across this fabric that had all of the colors I had envisioned. And it didn't take long for Reesie's Grandma to hand make her fabulous skirt :))

After all the reading I had done and just being a plain worry wart, I decided against all the bumper stuff and went with fun throw pillows that can be removed when our littles is sleeping.
(left-right.... found at Hobby lobby, hand made with love by Grandma, hand made with love by Grandma and hand made by me)

When it came to what went above her crib, I wanted something bold but yet simple enough that it didn't take away from her skirt. So i went browsing on Etsy and came across these really cute canvases. Only problem was, I am a cheapskate and wasn't willing to pay the $300 price take this person was asking for....so I enlisted my trusty Sister-in-law, Robyn, and we MADE them OURSELVES!!!

Call me crazy, but I think they turned out PERFECT!!!
 I absolutely LOVE THEM!!!!!!

Because Grandma and I got busy cleaning house, making pillows and trying to rest before a certain princess graces us with her presence...we didn't get our nifty tree bookcase done (maybe one day) but little girl needed something to hold her goodies and odd and ends. So I came across this little black bookcase that fit perfectly!

Her bookcase also holds some of her hand mades from her Auntie Robyn :))

For late night feedings we went with a classic rocker glider, found this green cover that complements her skirt , and added some hand made (by Reesie's Grandma) throw pillows.

I am a sucker for a photo collage, so it just didn't seem right not to have one for Reeselyn to house all of her  up coming, super cute newborn photos.

The opposite wall has her changing table/dresser!
We lucked out and found this dresser at a flea market in Arkansas one weekend and it only took me a good 8 months to find fabric I liked for her changing pad cover....(also made by Reesie's extremely talented Grandma)

I finally convinced G that is was absolutely necessary  to make a shelf to hold little girls wipes, lotions and powders for daily changings, instead of trying to wrangle a baby and get into the dresser all at the same time :))
So a few nails and two coats of paint later, Momma had her handy little shelf :)))

The two small shelves above her changing pad hold her monitor, a sweet pink piggy bank I found, a little Giraffe I couldn't say no to and .....

this hand made art work from Reesie's Auntie Robyn :))

Lastly, this sweet little chair sits next to her crib.
I think it fits perfectly and I cannot wait to see my little bitty having a ROCKING -HAHA- good time in it as she grows :))

And that my friends, is my little Reeselyn's humble abode...and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it has turned out!!!

A VERY special thanks to everyone for all the LOVE that each and everyone of you have put into making her room so very special!!!
